The Pierre Residence – Upper East Side, NYC

The iconic Pierre Hotel on the Upper East Side is home to several private residences. For this apartment, Ryan Korban established a refined interior concept enriched with French design influences and Western European aesthetics. Featuring a carefully curated selection of standout pieces, the residence blends timeless sophistication with Korban’s contemporary signature.

MY ROLE

As an intern for Ryan Korban, this was the project where I worked most closely alongside Ryan himself, making it an invaluable learning experience. From the very first site observations through to the final design stages, I was actively involved — taking measurements, documenting the space, producing 3D models and renderings, and refining design decisions together with Ryan.

One of my personal contributions was the design of a custom window bench overlooking the Upper East Side and Central Park, a detail that added both function and character to the apartment. In addition, I assisted with on-site preparations before leaving New York, such as reviewing floor finish samples, testing furniture layouts directly in the apartment, and coordinating small logistical details.

Although I was not present for the execution phase, my dedication and involvement throughout the design process meant that the office manager continued sharing updates with me after my departure. This project stands out as both a professional milestone and a personal honor to contribute to.
